I lead Functional Movement Trainings & Continuing Education around the World
2025 Trainings in Dublin & Seattle

Hamstring truth bomb: It’s not about getting the Hamstring truth bomb: It’s not about getting the leg straight — it’s about keeping the spine long. Why? Because a long spine lifts the sit bones up and back, creating a deeper, more balanced stretch across the entire hamstrings. 🙌

Starting with a bend in the knee? Yes please! That’s the key. It gives you better access to the pelvis and allows you to add more strength into the hamstrings.

💥 More balanced stretch. 💪 More strength. Total win/win.

Those who know me know I’m not a big breathwork Those who know me know I’m not a big breathwork fan, nor a yin enthusiast. Not that I don’t see value in them, they just don’t resonate with me. But your diaphragm needs helpers and the back of the rib cage is stuck for most people—so we’re stealing a bit of yin and breathwork in this picture to target this pesky area to unlock the rib cage and open the spine and breath capacity further.

THIS is exactly the kind of exploration we’re diving into at my Spine & Core Training in Seattle, June 18–22 at @beoneyogastudiokirkland . It’s a deep, gritty, anatomy-forward immersion into the pelvis, spine, and core. Think: real strength, real structure, real transformation—not fluff.

We’ll cover:
✨ Intelligent sequencing for all spinal directions
✨ Core integrity that actually supports your spine
✨ Teaching & spotting advanced backbends
✨ Hands-on assists that work
✨ And yes, finding balance between flexibility & stability

🚨 Only 2 spots left—don’t sit on this.

And if you can’t commit to the full training, join me for my Bigger, Deeper, Stronger Backbends workshop on June 22 at Be One. It’s going to be a really good one.

A manual adjustment should never be about getting A manual adjustment should never be about getting someone deeper—it’s about offering support, stability, and balance so the student can choose for themselves.

When we assist this way, we give them the chance to feel how to move rather than just be moved—and it’s a much safer approach for the student.

This is a big part of what we’ll be covering in my upcoming 40hr Spine & Core Training at @hotyogadublin—starting this Thursday, May 29! A few spots still left. Come join us. 🙌 Link in bio.

What you see: a beautiful, deep wheel pose that mo What you see: a beautiful, deep wheel pose that most people strive for.

What I see: a big hinge at the thoracolumbar junction, shoulders that look ready to support the load but aren’t, and a spine that compensated—until it couldn’t.

Wheel pose felt like a win once I was “open” enough. But that openness? It came at the cost of balance, stability, and eventually, pain and injury.

In my upcoming 40hr Core & Spine trainings—next week, May 29 - June 2, in Dublin and June 18-22 in Seattle—we’re diving into what the spine actually needs. Not just flexibility, but smart mobility. Not just abs, but real core strength.

This is the work that keeps your spine happy and your practice sustainable.

Ever notice how when you go deep into a backbend—or lift something heavy—you really feel it in one or two spots in your spine?

That sharp, concentrated sensation isn’t a sign of “going deeper.” It’s often a sign that a few joints are doing way too much, while the rest of your spine is hanging out on the sidelines.

What if instead of chasing more sensation, we aimed for less? Not because we’re backing off effort or intensity—but because the load and movement are being shared across all the joints, the way it’s meant to be.

Less sensation. More integration. That’s the work.

Yoga teachers, coaches, movement professionals—this is exactly the kind of stuff we dive into in my upcoming Core & Spine Teacher Training at Hot Yoga Dublin @hotyogadublin, May 29 – June 2.

We’ll look at how to build resilience and movement options through the whole spine—not just the few segments that like to take over.

Spots are limited, and it’s coming up fast. If this resonates, now’s the time.

Modern yoga often tells us to stretch more—but f Modern yoga often tells us to stretch more—but for the modern hip, that’s not enough.

Sitting all day, training in straight lines, and chasing flexibility without control has left too many of us with hips that are tight and unstable.

It’s time for something different.

Something smarter.

Something that actually works.
