Relax, Unwind & Explore in Sicily
Join leading London teacher Adam Husler and Seattle-based Tate Englund as they join up to create an exceptional week of yoga and relaxation you definitely don't want to miss.
Nestled in the heart of the Madonie natural park of Sicily, our retreat takes place in a wonderfully restored 17th century "Masseria”. The Madonie region is one of the wildest areas in Sicily, rich in forests, valleys, mountain gorges and medieval villages.
The retreat has a beautiful terrace overlooking the valley and mountains beyond and a large infinity pool set among the palms and olive trees. It also has an authentic 18th century labyrinth garden and plenty of hidden spots perfect for solitude and reflection. Set in 25 hectares of private land, you will be able to wander along many peaceful paths in a centuries-old oak forest and along the riverbank in the valley.
Yoga – your twice daily yoga sessions take place in a renovated chapel. The amazing, powerful combination of teachers, Adam Husler & Tate Englund, will provide you with special place to explore, learn and grow. Alternating between who is teaching class, their attention to detail, unique styles and playful teaching will allow you fully be present & mindful throughout your retreat and potentially take your yoga practice to new heights.
Come practice and learn from top alignment & technique yoga teachers in the heart of Sicily.
Relax - discover the essence of the Sicilian "dolce fa niente" and read, swim or do nothing around the pool, under the shade of an umbrella or in a quiet spot under the trees.
Sicilian Cooking - pick tomatoes from the biological garden and fruit from the trees and learn how to make tomato preserves and jams for the winter or take part in our Chef's Sicilian vegetarian cooking lessons.
Walk - Just a few kilometers away from the Masseria is Gangi, winner of the award of the most beautiful village in Italy! Gangi is a medieval small place, built on an ancient Greek settlement and placed at over one thousand meters of altitude with a view of Mount Etna on a clear day.
Mid-week you’ll have a free day so that you can head out an explore some of the Sicilian wonders all around us. You’ll be able to choose one of the following:
Valley of the Temples
On the south coast of Sicily, near Agrigento, there is the Valley of the Temples, one of the main archaeological sites in the Mediterranean and the UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can reach here by car in just under 2 hours.
About an hour away from the Masseria is Cefalù, with its long white beaches, its promenade, its cafes and restaurants and its world-famous cathedral, built in the eleventh century and decorated with extraordinary Byzantine style golden mosaics.
Palermo Food Experience
Experience Sicilian Street food and markets with our highly rated chef-led market experience. Weave your way through a labyrinth of hollering vendors, vibrant seasonal colors, and the delicious aroma of fried goodies. Enjoy an intro to la cucina siciliana, morning coffee, tastings in the Ballarò market, traditional Sicilian tastings and Palermitan street food and get our Palermo chef’s tried-and-true recommendations for lunch or dinner on your own.
With its 3350 mts above sea level, Mount Etna is the largest active volcano in Europe and one of the highest in Europe. From the Masseria it is about two hours’ drive – then we can arrange for you to trek up to the summit and to the volcanic vents or you can take the cable car.

Meet the Teachers
Drawing from a variety of lives lived off the mat, Adam Husler( E-500RYT) brings a unique perspective to those who seek more from yoga than making pretty shapes. He offers creative, effective and clearly-sequenced teachings that focus on balancing flexibility and strength;physically and mentally. Educated by globally renown teachers, including Jason Crandell and Michael Stone, Adam specialises in a signature style of Alignment-Based Vinyasa— fuelled by a fascination with anatomy and a desire to ask ‘why?’
Adam believes that yoga is a personally subjective practice of self enquiry, where one thing is for certain: whether a long-time listener, first time caller, or anywhere in between... yoga offers us all plenty of options to challenge and reward. Start small, go slow, practise, and all is coming. With a robust home schedule in London and leading workshops, trainings and festivals continuously around the world, including teaching on Jason Crandell’s 200hr training, Adam has thousands of teaching hours under his belt. You can find Adam chatting on the Honestly Unbalanced podcastand teaching online, including on thehuslers.com platform.
As a E-500RYT, Tate's classes are challenging, yet accessible, where he blends alignment, strength & mindfulness to get his students to truly understand what is happening in their body at that moment. His clear, concise verbal cuing allows for students move into, hold, and move out postures safely and successfully. Tate's teaching has a focus on creating better balance between strength and flexibility for a long term, sustainable yoga practice.
His primary teacher is Jason Crandell.
Based in Seattle, Tate has thousands of hours teaching public classes, hosting retreats & leading workshops, teacher trainings and yoga immersions through his yoga school. You can practice with him online using his YouTube channel where you'll find a library of classes and tutorials.
